The results of the yearly rankings of fast-food restaurants from USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards are in, and we must admit to some surprise.

For the second year in a row , Del Taco tops the list for the best fast-food restaurant in the country.

The Tex-Mex chain started in California in the 1960s. Menu items include tacos, burritos, burgers and crinkle-cut fries. But we’ve never seen it generate the type of lines In-N-Out Burger has in Oregon.

Del Taco also took the top spot in the USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards for the best fast-food fries and the No. 2 spot for the best fast-food breakfast.

The chain has eight locations across Oregon , including one each in Gresham and Hillsboro, as well as a Vancouver location.
