CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A large tree came crashing down early Thursday morning, forcing the closure of South Wendover Road in south Charlotte.
The road has been shut down since around 6 a.m., causing traffic backups during the morning commute. Crews are currently working to remove the tree and clear the area.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes until the cleanup is complete. There's no official word yet on when the road will reopen.
