JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Transportation officials in South Carolina and Georgia are set to break ground on a major project along Interstate 95.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation and the Georgia Department of Transportation will participate in the ceremony for the I-95 Widening and Improvements Project. Work on the project is set to take place in Jasper County.

Both agencies will address the media at the South Carolina Welcome Center in Hardeeville prior to Thursday’s groundbreaking.

The project is aimed at widening and improving I-95 along a 10-mile stretch from the Savannah River to U.S. 278.
