Worcester: L, 0-1 (BOX SCORE)
I have to give it to Kyle Harrison. He pitched pretty lights out. Five scoreless innings, one hit and four walks, eight strikeouts… stuff you’d like to see after watching Walker Buehler pitch last night. Harrison’s main yellow flag is efficiency, as he continues to take the pitch count into the 90’s to retire those 15 batters… but I’ll still take it with the zero runs. The only blemish on the night came from Bryan Mata allowing a run following Harrison’s exit. Unfortunately, the Cubs’ pitching staff was just a bit better than that, as Jameson Taillon’s rehab start stretched into the sixth inning and the staff as a whole gave up just two hits to Nate Eaton and Kristian Campbell, respectively. Even against a lockdown defense, Campbell still finds a way to hit.
