MONTREAL -- Passengers planning to fly with Air Canada in the near future may need to rearrange their schedules. On Wednesday, the airline announced it is gradually suspending flights ahead of a full cancellation of flights starting Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

The move comes as a union representing more than 10,000 flight attendants voted to strike this week as negotiations continue on a new labor contract. After being served the strike notice, the airline decided to cease all Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flights by the weekend.

As a result, passengers are having their flights cancelled or rearranged to go through other airlines where possible. Those who’ve had their flights cancelled will be fully refunded, Air Canada said.
