HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - New students at Marshall University formed a giant letter “M” on the football field today.

It’s a tradition to gather all the freshmen together to do this, and here’s how it looks.

The new students form the M on the Joan C. Edwards Stadium field as they pose for their first picture together.

This is one of the events happening with the new students for the Week of Welcome.

Another tradition: students can go back to the stadium tonight to watch the movie, “We Are Marshall.”

It starts at 8:15 p.m.

Students will also gather Friday night for the Herd rally on the 9th Street Plaza.
