COTULLA, Tex. (KGNS) - Cotulla Border Patrol agents, in cooperation with the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, detained seven undocumented immigrants who were hidden underneath a flatbed truck

Details of the detainment were announced on Thursday, August 14, by the Laredo Sector Border Patrol on their Facebook page.

The incident started when the two agencies collaborated to intercept a flatbed truck suspected of human smuggling. After a short chase, the driver attempted to flee but was captured. Authorities discovered seven illegal immigrants hidden and locked beneath the flatbed of the truck.

The driver was arrested on felony smuggling charges, while the illegal immigrants will face charges for illegal entry.
