NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - East Bank will soon have a new look. The scrapyard next to the Nissan Stadium is going away.
SA Recycling has used the scrapyard on South 1st Street for metal recycling since the 1960s.
The sounds and sights of this industrial wasteland are part of the city landscape, which has become an eyesore over the years.
“It’s industrial. It’s not the prettiest site,” said Greg Lier, who visits Nashville several times a year.
That’s expected to change since TEB LLC, announced it purchased the scrapyard for $245 Million, through ARRT Global’s SRE fund representing more than 50 local investors from Nashville and Tennessee.
Nashville Metro Councilmember Jacob Kupin, who represents East Bank says the sale comes at a critical time.
“As we know, the East Bank is undergoing
