MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — For weeks, Lisa, from Mesa, has been trying to get answers about her unpaid unemployment insurance claim. All of her calls to the state’s Department of Economic Security go unanswered.
Lisa received an email from DES acknowledging a backlog in the adjudication department, but did not receive information about when her claim would be processed.
“It’s not right. It’s just not right,” she said.
Lisa was laid off from her job at a bank in June and has been on the job hunt ever since. “I have a little bit of savings and that’s basically what we’re using is savings to stay afloat,” she told On Your Side.
Tiffani Calderon’s unemployment claim is stuck somewhere in the system, too. She had to move back in with her parents in Queen Creek.
