Last month, the Chinese embassy in Ottawa criticized new duties from Canada on Chinese imported steel, saying they violated World Trade Organization rules.

China on Friday filed a complaint with the WTO against Canada’s import restrictions on steel and other products, the Chinese commerce ministry said.
