BISHOPVILLE, S.C. (WBTV) - Nine students were hospitalized after a school bus crashed into a tanker truck in South Carolina on Thursday afternoon.
Sister-station reported that the Aug. 14 wreck happened on in Lee County, right in front of a Pilot truck stop.
Highway Patrol told WIS that 33 kids were on the bus, including the nine who were hurt. All the students’ injuries were said to have been minor. It was not clear if the bus or truck drivers were injured.
It was also unclear what school the bus was operating from, but it was within the Lee County School District. The district’s new school year just started back on Aug. 4.
Officials did not say Thursday how exactly the crash happened; however, pictures showed the bus with significant front-end damage, including an almost entirely
