Dangerous Conditions Expected to Last Through the Weekend

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Residents of Hillsborough County are advised to take precautions as a heat advisory is in effect today, August 15, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued the advisory due to dangerously hot and humid conditions, with the heat index—what the temperature feels like—expected to reach up to 110 degrees.

While actual air temperatures are forecasted to be in the mid-to-upper 90s, the heat index is the critical factor to consider for safety. 🥵

The advisory extends through the weekend, with high temperatures expected to continue on Saturday and Sunday. The Office of Emergency Management and its partners will continue to monitor the situation and provide guidance.
