The city of Jackson is reeling this week after the loss of 16-year-old high school student Shermya Gamble.

Gamble was killed Tuesday morning in a single vehicle wreck on her way to school just one week into her junior year, Jackson Police told WKRG .

“Her presence and contagious spirit will truly be missed by us,” reads a Facebook post from the high school.

“Our prayers and sincere condolences go out to her family and friends during their time of profound loss.”
