SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) - A Cleveland man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for robbing an ATM at gunpoint on Thursday.

Joel Alonte Travis, 21, was found guilty back in April of armed bank robbery and carrying a firearm during, and in relation to, a crime of violence.

On Oct. 16, 2024, before noon, a technician was servicing an ATM at a Chase Bank in South Euclid when two masked men hopped out of a Hyundai Sonata and robbed him at gunpoint.

According to court records, one of the men pressed a gun to the back of his head and demanded that he remove the cassettes, which contained cash to refill the ATM.

The two stole about $112,440 worth of cash and fled the scene, according to the release.
