GREENVILLE, S.C. —
Greenville City firefighters are responding to a church after its roof collapsed Sunday morning.
A city fire official tells us a fire crew spotted Upstate Church Haywood's collapse at 9:31 a.m., sending rescue teams in immediately. Church was luckily not in session at the time.
According to both church members and firefighters, no one was inside when the roof collapsed, and the walls started to bend. No one was hurt.
Fire officials tell us they've notified contractors and engineers to secure the structure and determine the cause.
Church members tell us services continued in the gym on Upstate Church Haywood's campus. One member told our crew that the church's roof was already damaged, and they were in the process of moving items out.
This is a developing story. Our
