An attempted armed robbery occurred early Sunday morning, and the Emporia Police Department is asking for help from the public to identify and apprehend two suspects.

Lisa Hayes, Investigations Captain with the Emporia Police Department, says that a male victim reported an attempted robbery in the 1100 block of E. 12th Ave at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

“The victim left Phillips 66, 1201 E. 12th Ave, westbound on foot and was approached by two males, also on foot, who attempted to rob him at gunpoint,” Hayes said.
