Thunderstorm chances will continue into this upcoming week. Drier weather will start moving in on Wednesday.

Isolated to scattered showers and storms have popped up across New Mexico Sunday afternoon. Heavy rain has fallen over the Ruidoso area burn scars, bringing more flash flooding this afternoon. It's also been another hot day across the state with high temperatures hovering above average for many areas. Showers and storms will decrease through the overnight.

More afternoon showers and storms will return Monday and Tuesday across New Mexico, except for northwest New Mexico where it will be the driest. Storm chances in the Albuquerque Metro will also stay very isolated. Heavy rain will be possible though over the Ruidoso burn scars, which could lead to flash flooding Monday and Tuesda
