DISCUSSION: A Heat Advisory is in effect for most of East Texas today as heat index values climb to 105-108 degrees. A few showers and storms will be possible, especially during the afternoon and evening. Tuesday will be very similar with hot and humid conditions in addition to the chance for isolated to widely scattered shower and thunderstorm activity. Rain chances will increase by the middle part of the week, continuing through Friday. This will result in slightly lower high temperatures in the lower 90s rather than the mid to upper 90s. By the weekend, rain chances will start to decrease and high temperatures will slowly start to warm back up.
