SEATTLE — The man accused of fatally shooting a classmate at the Northgate Transit Center in late July is expected in court on Monday.

Investigators say Edward Kimani, 28, thoughtfully planned out the attack on his 48-year-old victim. The two were classmates at Pima Medical Institute, according to charging documents.

The shooting took place on a Monday morning during commute hours, as Kimani arrived to the station minutes before Juwan Williams was set to arrive.

Dressed in black gloves and a face covering, Kimani waited until Williams walked off the escalator and shot him in the back of the head.
