SEATTLE — The suspect in a shooting at the Seattle waterfront that went viral pleaded not guilty on Monday morning.
Gregory Timm, 32, is accused of shooting Harold Powell Sr. while he was in a wheelchair during an altercation on July 31. Police said Timm initiated the conflict with Powell, but the suspect's lawyers said he was defending himself after Powell pulled out a holstered airsoft gun.
Video appearing to show the moment Timm pulled out a gun and shot Powell on Alaskan Way was widely disseminated across social media. Timm remained at the scene after the shooting and was taken into custody. Timm is charged with felony assault.
