SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Three fire departments in South Dakota will each receive $10,000 from State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC).
Aug. 18 is National Volunteer Firefighters Day, and for a second year, State Farm and the NVFC have collaborated to support local fire departments with funding.
Through the “Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program”, 150 fire departments in 44 states received a $10,000 grant.
Three fire departments in South Dakota were among the selected to receive the grant:
Butte Volunteer Fire Department (Belle Fourche)
Ramona Volunteer Fire Department
Willow Lake Volunteer Fire Department
These funds will be used to purchase a variety of equipment and gear throughout each fire department.
