CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are working to piece together an incident Monday morning that resulted in at least two arrests.
Cranston Police Major Todd Patalano told 12 News it started just after 5 a.m. with a report of gunshots and a female screaming in the area of Woodbury Road, off Broad Street.
He said someone shot at a black GMC, which officers spotted and tried to pull over. The driver didn't stop, however, and police pursued the vehicle into Providence, where it crashed on Adelaide Avenue.
A man and a woman were then taken into custody, according to Patalano. Their names were not released.
No one was hit by the gunfire, Patalano said, but there were minor injuries from the crash.
Patalano said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow.
