Members of the Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee (MAAC) say city staff have been going over their heads when it comes to planning the accessibility features of North Bay’s new twin-pad arena, despite the committee being appointed by council to oversee those plans.

At issue is a report on the accessibility features that municipal staff altered without permission after the committee had already approved the version to be presented to council.

Committee members Barb Smith and Johanne Brousseau, along with secretary-treasurer Adam Curran, spoke about this issue while presenting their annual report at the Aug. 12 committee meeting of council.
