NEWPORT, Ore. - Lincoln County Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested a Corvallis man for allegedly attempting illegal sexual encounters with minors.

The arrest occurred after a suspect, identified as 48-year-old Eric White, engaged with decoy accounts posing as underage children on social media. White faces three counts of luring a minor and three counts of second-degree online sexual corruption of a child. According to Lincoln County sheriff's officials, these charges came after White traveled to Newport on Aug. 18 intending to meet the decoy accounts in a hotel room.
