CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- The 39th annual Strong Kids Safe Kids event is set to make a return to Chemung County on Saturday, August 23rd. It's happening at the Chemung County Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organizers say there will be free, hands on activities geared towards making kids and families more aware about health and safety. Along with safety, an emphasis will also be placed on prevention of child abuse and child safety.

There will be free inflatables, face painting, crafts and more. New York State Police will be providing free car seat safety checks, and Operation Safe Child will provide child identification cards through the Chemung County Sheriff's Office.

Parking is free, just use Gate 4 off of Grand Central Avenue.
