PORTLAND, Ore. — The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office released the name of a man whose body was found in the Willamette River near West Linn late last week.
On Monday, the sheriff's office identified him as Eric Meszaros, 30, of Utah.
Just after 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 13, a 911 caller reported seeing a body in the Willamette River near the Interstate 205 bridge. The man, later identified as Meszaros, was recovered from the water. At the time, deputies didn't see any obvious signs of trauma and he had appeared to have been in the water for some time.
Detectives believe Meszaros died after crashing his vehicle on Aug. 10 near McLoughlin Boulevard and Railroad Avenue in Oregon City, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said. They do not suspect foul play.
