NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police are continuing their investigation after an 18-year-old was killed and another man was injured following a downtown shooting over the weekend.
Police responded to the sound of gunfire on College Street around 2:52 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found Dillon Cornelius, of West Haven, between Crown and Chapel Streets. He was suffering multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive.
Cornelius was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Shortly after, police were informed that a 23-year-old from Hamden suffering from a non-life-threatening graze wound from gunfire downtown also was admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
