EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State head football coach Jonathan Smith has announced the team captains for the 2025 season.

The five captains—junior quarterback Aidan Chiles , graduate senior defensive lineman Quindarius Dunnigan , graduate senior linebacker Sam Edwards , graduate senior offensive lineman Matt Gulbin, and junior linebacker Jordan Hall —were voted by their teammates.

Chiles becomes the first Spartan to be voted a captain in consecutive seasons since Xavier Henderson and Payton Thorne in 2021-22. Chiles was voted a captain as a true sophomore in his first season at MSU in 2024 and started all 12 games at quarterback.
