The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has announced that 77 out of every 100 students who sat for the Form 2 exams this year passed, while 87 out of 100 passed the Standard 8 exams.
MANEB Director General Professor Dorothy Nampota made the announcement during a press briefing in Lilongwe yesterday.
She said 81% of boys and over 73% of girls passed the Form 2 exams, while 90% of boys and 84% of girls passed Standard 8.
Out of 216,972 Standard 8 students who passed, only 103,261 have been selected for secondary school — meaning just 48 out of every 100 will proceed, a slight rise from 45 per 100 last year.
All exams are now available on MANEB’s website.
