TRAVERSE CITY — Emergency sewer system repairs have extended street closures on Seventh and South Cedar streets, city officials announced Tuesday.

The City of Traverse City Water and Wastewater Maintenance Division, along with Team Elmer’s, is continuing work in the 300 block of South Cedar Street.

To complete the project, Cedar will remain closed between Sixth and Seventh streets through Thursday, Aug. 21. Seventh Street will also be closed between Division and Spruce streets through the end of today, Aug. 19.

Motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians are asked to use alternate routes to reduce congestion and delays while also promoting worker safety. Signs and barricades are in place around the work area.

City officials noted the construction will create dust, noise and inconvenience. Re
