CORONACA, N.C. (WBTV) - Two earthquakes were reported near the town of Coronaca in South Carolina within the last 24 hours.
The first happened at 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18. Its epicenter was near the Saluda River, north of Coronaca. The 2.2 magnitude quake was reportedly about .04 kilometers deep.
About three and a half hours later, around 3:08 a.m. on Tuesday, another earthquake was reported. The second quake had a reported magnitude of 1.7 and was about .16 kilometers deep. Its epicenter was reported near Emerald Road, south of Coronaca.
No damage or injuries were reported with either quake.
