MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A large tree came crashing down on a house Monday afternoon on Madison’s southwest side, forcing three people to need to leave their home.

Madison Fire Department said the tree fell after strong storms passed through Monday.

Crews responded just after 12:50 p.m. to the 4900 block of Flad Avenue, and determined everyone got out of the home safely.

Madison Gas & Electric disconnected power to the home before MFD’s Heavy Urban Rescue Team examined it.

MFD said the home is not considered livable, so firefighters went inside to get important items that belong to the residents.

The residents have been relocated, and no one was hurt.

An arborist arrived to help remove the tree from the roof.
