EPHRAIM, Wis. (WBAY) - Door County first responders recovered a body from the water at Peninsula State Park on Tuesday morning.

Chief Deputy Kyle Veeser of the Door County Sheriff’s Office confirms a call came in at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office said emergency personnel from Door County Emergency Services, Gibraltar Fire Department, Ephraim Fire Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Door County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

When crews arrived, they found the body of a 61-year-old woman. The sheriff’s office said she has been identified and authorities are working to notify her family. The sheriff’s office isn’t releasing her name at this time, citing respect for the family’s privacy.
