MESA COUNTY Colo. (KREX)- Mesa County is now dealing with its second confirmed case of measles in just a matter of days, following over a 20-year span without a confirmed case.
Health officials say they are moving quickly to prevent any further spread of the virus. Xavier Crockett, the executive director of Public Health, told WesternSlopeNow more about their response:
“Our team is working diligently to stop the spread of measles in our community. We were prepared and are ready to respond to this to the measles cases”
The county has activated emergency response protocols, meaning more staff, longer hours, and increased monitoring.
