COLUMBUS, Ohio — A sentimental, one-of-a-kind bicycle stolen from a German Village garage last month has been returned to its owner, thanks to a city worker who saw the story on social media and took action.

Sara Marketos and her partner, Jillian, had nearly lost hope of recovering the bicycle, which she and her father had built together piece by piece and had taken on cross-country trips. The bike was taken from their garage in late July.

"I was coming to terms with the fact that I was probably never going to see the bike again," Marketos said.

The couple reported the theft and checked local pawn shops, bike shops and posted on social media. Then, a city worker who watched 10TV’s coverage of the story recognized the bike.
