A Tennessee man was found early Tuesday in the wreckage of a plane that crashed near Bradley, the Arkansas State Police said in a news release.
Barry Boes, 54, of Ooltewah, Tenn., was the pilot and sole occupant of the single-engine 2021 Lancair Super Barracuda that crashed after departing Austin, Texas, en route to Chattanooga, Tenn., the release says.
The Lafayette County sheriff's office received a report of a possible downed aircraft in the area at 9:30 p.m. Monday, and a state police helicopter found the wreckage in a remote, wooded area at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. State police and sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene at 5:15 a.m., the release says. Boes was pronounced dead at the scene, the release says.
The crash investigation has been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administrat
