NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Mistakenly released Orleans Parish Prison inmate, Khalil Bryan, has been recaptured.

Authorities reported Wednesday Aug. 20, that Bryan was found and arrested in Texas due to an anonymous tip called in through Crimestoppers.

Bryan was mistakenly released on July 25 from the Orleans Parish Justice Center due to a "misidentification between two individuals with a similar last name."

He was originally in custody for charges of domestic abuse, child endangerment and home invasion.

As a result, two deputies with the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office have been fired while five others were suspended.
