Michigan City Area Schools will return to its regular in-person schedule on Thursday, after vandalism to a large number of school buses caused disruptions in student transportation.

District officials were forced to call an E-learning day on Tuesday after it was discovered that up to 25 catalytic converters were stolen from school buses parked at the Michigan City Area Schools Transportation Department at 1100 S. Woodland Ave, according to police.

The Little Wolves Early Learning Center was also closed on Tuesday.

Elementary students returned to regular, in-person classes on Wednesday, while middle and high school students continued to participate in live instruction and assignments online.
