Windsor police are investigating the daytime theft of a semi-truck trailer filled with valuable meat.

A trailer containing 530 boxes of boneless beef chuck roast valued at $160,000 USD — now roughly $222,000 CAD — was stolen from a parking lot in the 2400 block of Cabana Road East at around 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 2, police said.

The semi and trailer labelled “Cost 2 Coast Xpress” had been parked for roughly four hours when a dark grey Jeep Rubicon and a white Cascadia Freightliner entered the lot.

Two unknown males were seen breaking into the semi-truck and driving away with the trailer.

The first suspect had a slim build, long, dark, curly hair, and wore all black clothing, police said. The second wore dark pants, a light-coloured shirt, and had a dark baseball hat.
