A judge accepted a 12-year prison deal for the former Key Biscayne gymnastics coach arrested for sexually assaulting multiple students, despite state attorneys attempting to withdraw their initial offer the defendant had already signed last week.

Under the deal with Miami-Dade prosecutors, 40-year-old Oscar Olea plead guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious battery /sexual activity and two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a specified minor.

He was sentenced to 12 years in state prison to be followed by 10 years of sex offender probation. He will also be required to register as a sex offender and must complete a sexual offender treatment program.
