A motorcycle led Coweta deputies on a chase with speeds exceeding 130 mph.

On Aug. 15, deputies responded to reports of Douglass Brock Roberts, 29, passing drivers on a double yellow line at 90 mph.

Deputies spotted the motorcycle traveling south on Highway 29, according to the incident report, following too closely to the vehicle in front of it.

Roberts reportedly passed the vehicle with other vehicles coming head-on before continuing on Highway 29 and making a right turn onto Highway 16.

According to the report, deputies observed Roberts passing another vehicle in the emergency lane and turning onto Gordon Road. Roberts was traveling at approximately 130 mph, and the deputy was “traveling at 120 mph and (Roberts) was still pulling away.”
