MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG)—Community members and elected officials came together at Franklin Primary Health Center to pay tribute to the lifelong dedication of a Mobile and Alabama activist.
The late James E. Buskey was honored for how he touched the lives of so many in the state of Alabama.
"We are so proud, so glad that we had a brother named James E. Buskey," Buskey's sister, Joyce Royal, said.
On Thursday, the Mobile native who was an education, healthcare, and Civil Rights advocate was paid tribute.
"I feel great that I'm still here to share in honor," Busky's wife, Virgia Eli Buskey, said. "That's a gift for him today, and he deserves it."
