Sampson County officials took a significant step toward long-term economic growth Tuesday evening, formally adopting a comprehensive economic development plan aimed at expanding the county’s tax base, creating jobs, and improving infrastructure. The meeting, held at Heritage Hall in Clinton, was attended by more than 80 residents and marked the culmination of a months-long strategic planning process involving extensive community input.

Over 400 residents participated in the process through surveys, in-person workshops, and one-on-one interviews, providing critical input that shaped the plan’s recommendations.
