TUCSON, AZ (AZFamily) — Girls’ flag football is one of the fastest growing sports. It was two years ago that the AIA officially made it a sanctioned sport in Arizona. So it’s Something Good when a local company steps in to help grow the sport at one southern Arizona campus.
The girls’ flag football team at Santa Rita High School in Tucson is ready to kick the season into high gear. They’re protected and suited up, thanks in part to a big donation from Banner Sports Medicine.
Earlier this month, the company collected $25 from each athlete participating in a girls’ flag football combine. Banner Sports Medicine raised $2,500 and donated it to Santa Rita High School as they start up a girls’ flag football program this year!
