TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Tucson Police Department caught a 16-year-old suspect following a large police presence in a midtown Tucson neighborhood.

According to TPD, a 16-year-old was caught and charged with minor in possession of a firearm on Thursday night.

TPD said officers responded to West Lee Street and North 9th Avenue around 8 p.m. on Aug. 21 after reports of gunshots in the area.

A group of male teenagers were located and ran away from officers, TPD said. After a brief foot chase, a 16-year-old suspect was caught.

There were no reports of injuries or damages.

This comes after a significant police presence was in a neighborhood near Speedway Boulevard and Stone Avenue, where TPD utilized a drone and K9 units for their operations. The Pima Community College (PCC) issued an ale
