TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Tucson Veterans Affairs Medical Center is set to receive infrastructure improvements as part of the Veterans Health Administration's Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM) program.

This comes after the Department of Veterans Affairs added an amount of $800 million dollars in extra funding to fiscal year 2025. The funds, coming from VHA reform efforts savings, will go towards updating and repairing VA facilities and technology.

“This is another step forward in our efforts to make VA work better for the Veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors we are charged with serving,” said VA Secretary Doug Collins. “Improved facilities, equipment and infrastructure help improve care for Veterans, and these additional funds will enable VA to achieve that goal.”
