Cheba Hut, the cannabis-themed toasted sub sandwich chain, has been on the verge of opening in Minneapolis for years.

An Instagram account for the Uptown location posted that it was "landing soon" in June 2022. More promises of an opening followed in 2023 and 2024. But, this time, it's for real. At least, that's what Cheba Hut says of its plans to open in Uptown on Nov. 3.

"Holy shit, yeah, it's been a long road," Seth Larsen, Chief Development Officer for Cheba Hut, tells Bring Me The News. "We're just waiting on a liquor license. But we do have a signed lease, and we have a franchise agreement."

Earlier this year, Racket reported that the Uptown Cheba Hut was served eviction papers after allegedly not paying rent for its storefront on the ground level of The Asher apartment building.
