Art is mirrored by life on Hagar Drive at UC Santa Cruz as a cyclist steers his e-bike past illustrated construction fencing that surrounds housing going up in UCSC’s East Meadow. According to the university, the project, known as the Hagar Development, will take up about 120,000 assignable square feet on 17 acres. The development, which is intended for students with families, will include 140 two-bedroom apartment units in 35 two-story, four-plex buildings, a child care facility, community building, a maintenance building and a wastewater treatment plant.
