PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - The Peoria Fire Department used the “jaws of life” to rescue a passenger trapped in a vehicle after a crash Friday evening near Northwoods Mall.
Peoria firefighters were called shortly before 7:15 p.m. to the 4200 block of North Sterling Avenue.
A female passenger was trapped and fire crews used cutters and spreaders to free her from the wreckage, according to a fire department news release. An Advanced Medical Transport ambulance took her and the driver to local hospitals. Their conditions are not available.
The fire department said two people in the other vehicle declined hospital treatment.
Two times on Friday, firefighters were called to use special equipment to extricate crash victims.
