Two killed in Aug. 19 crash in Corolla

On Aug. 19, at approximately 12:25 a.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated a fatal collision on NC 12 at North Harbor View in Corolla. Rosario Edgar, 65, of Marietta, GA was traveling north on NC 12 in a 2023 Ford Explorer. Edgar was traveling at a high rate of speed when his vehicle traveled off the road to the right and collided into an embankment. After colliding into the embankment, the vehicle overturned several times.

The front seat passenger, 22-year-old Nicholas Danbrowney of Barnegat, NJ, was unrestrained and ejected from the vehicle as it overturned. Danbrowney died at the scene. Edgar was transported to Outer Banks Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A third passenger in the vehicle w
